These applications were developed for use on an 800x600 resolution monitor. Use this resolution or higher for best viewing. SpacePie V.1 and BigBack V.1 are designed to run on Windows® 3.1. Please note that they may be installed on earlier versions of WIN95 (provided your hard disk space is smaller than 2 gb), but not recommended. We recommend that you print this page and follow the instructions listed below. Please note that this is a typical description. There may be some differences depending on your system. There are three basic steps to this download procedure: (1) download from the internet, (2) decompression of the self-extracting executable, and (3) run the installation.

How to download, decompress, and install h p c h.com's (formerly Home PC Helpers) SpacePie V.1 and BigBack V.1 on WIN95 systems:

Step Description
1. On your C drive in Explorer, create a directory named "Temp" (without the quotes). If you already have a "Temp" directory (C:\Temp), ensure that it is empty. (Make sure it doesn't have any files in it.)
2. On the h p c h.com Download Page, single-click the icon of the program you wish to download.
3. (a.) A pop-up window, titled "File Download", will appear. Select "Save this program to disk" then click "OK".
(b.) A second pop-up window titled "Save As" will appear. Locate "My Briefcase" in the save in: drop down menu text box. Click "My Briefcase" to display it in the save in: text box. Click the "Save" button.
(c.) A third window named "File Download" appears to show the download progress. Wait for the download to complete.
(d.) When the download completes, a fourth pop-up window appears stating: "the download is complete". Click the "OK" button on this fourth window.
4. When the download is finished, you may return to h p c h.com Download Page to download another program. Once you've completed downloading, open your "Briefcase", and scan the downloaded file(s) for virus. (The self-extracting executable filenames are: "SPie101.exe" and "BBack101.exe") Process only one self-extracting executable at a time from this point on. Move one of the files to the empty "Temp" directory you created in step 1 by cutting and pasting.
5. In the "Temp" directory, double click the self-extracting executable you just moved from "Briefcase" to decompress.
6. Decompression - An MSDOS window pops up and displays a message "Searching EXE: C:/Temp/Spie101.exe (-or- Bback101.exe) Inflating:..." and it lists several files. When you see "Finished - Spie101 (or Bback101)" on the MSDOS window titlebar, close the MSDOS window. This process has created several files in your "Temp" directory. You are now ready to install.
7. Installation - Click the "Start" button on the WIN95 taskbar and select "Run..."
8. Type "C:\Temp\Setup.exe" (without the quotes) in the "Open" text input box.
9. Click the "OK" button.
10. The installation is now complete and the program can be run by double clicking the executable's file name (i.e., "Spacepie.exe" or "Bigback.exe") located in the directory you specified during the installation. (The default directories are C:\Spacepie or C:\Backup.)
11. Remember to delete all files from your "Temp" directory before returning to step 4 to process another downloaded file.
